These are checks 1 to 3, in full. The checklist has the other 17 and the tracking sheet.

robots.txt lets the search bots in.

Open yourdomain.com/robots.txt. Look for OAI-SearchBot (ChatGPT search), Claude-SearchBot (Claude) and PerplexityBot (Perplexity). A line Disallow: / under any of them tells that assistant to stay out.

Done when none of them is blocked from the pages you want named.

robots.txt lets the "someone asked about you" bots in.

These fetch a page when a person asks about it. They are ChatGPT-User, Claude-User and Perplexity-User.

Done when none is blocked from your product, pricing and comparison pages.

Training bots are a separate, deliberate choice.

GPTBot, ClaudeBot and Google-Extended collect training data. Blocking them does not block search, and allowing them is your decision.

Done when your robots.txt says what you chose on purpose, not what a plugin set by default.

FAQ

Before You Send the Form

Quick answers about the checklist and what arrives in your inbox.

Is the checklist free?
Yes. Enter a work email and the checklist arrives in your inbox at once. No account and no card are needed.
Which assistants does it cover?
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. The first checks name the bots these assistants use, so you can see in your robots.txt whether they are allowed in.
What happens after I send the form?
The checklist arrives by email at once, with a link to the full list that you can print or save as a PDF. A short series of practical tips follows, five emails over about 17 days, each with an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops them at once.
Do I need LiveMentions to use it?
No. Every check can be done by hand with a browser and a spreadsheet. The checklist also shows when doing it by hand stops making sense.
Is it only for SaaS and B2B teams?
It is written with SaaS and B2B teams in mind, where buyers ask an assistant for a shortlist before they visit a vendor. The checks themselves apply to any brand with a website.
How long does it take?
About an hour for each of the five groups. If you only have twenty minutes, the checklist has a short start that covers the two most important checks and a first test in all four assistants.
