Topics: organizing what you track

A topic is a theme within your market, the kind of question space a potential customer would search or ask about. Topics group related prompts together so your results stay organized and easy to review.

A good topic describes a problem or category, not your product by name. For example, Team Scheduling Software is a topic. Your Product Pricing is not.

Adding a topic

  1. Go to Topics and click Add Topic.
  2. Enter a title for the topic.
  3. Choose how many prompts you would like generated for it. You can adjust this, the default is 3.
  4. Choose a location.
  5. Click Add.

LiveMentions will research the topic and generate that many real, ready to track prompts for it right away.

Editing a topic

Open a topic action menu to rename it or change its status, Active, Inactive, Pending, or Archived. Only active prompts under active topics are actively tracked.

Viewing topic prompts

Click into any topic to see every prompt under it, along with its Visibility, Share of Voice, Sentiment, and Position, a quick way to see which parts of a topic are performing well and which need attention.

From the Topics list, you can also expand a topic in place to preview its prompts without opening the full detail page.
